Break My Heart
04:36
|
|||
She got strength like her daddy never did
She got faith like a sweet little kid
I got a feeling that I’m finally gonna stick around here
Soft eyes, curly hair like her Mama
who got her name from an 80’s soap opera
Don’t leave me hanging like the crystal from a chandelier
Hearts on a wire in a circus
surrounded by lost lovers and fools
They’re all waiting for promise to surface
But I just gotta do it, even if I lose it...
Baby you can break, baby you can break my heart
Baby you can break, baby you can break my heart
I used to be some sort of blue jean Casanova
California kid, hypnotizing cobras
When I met her I felt something like a New Year’s Eve
I told myself I’m not getting any younger
I lost myself to that twenty-something hunger
She gives me hope and gives it to me like you wouldn’t believe
Hearts on fire, don’t you feel it?
No use in waiting for the smoke to clear.
Trust me with your scars and secrets
Come on and give me a shot, I’m gonna give you all I got, ha
Baby you can break, baby you can break my heart
Baby you can break, baby you can break my heart
I got a feeling that you won’t do it anyway
But it’s up to you what you do with my heart babe
Baby you can break, baby you can break my heart.
Running out of words to tell you how I feel, always wanna give you more, oh oh
Finally believe for once that love is real, never really have before, oh oh
Baby you can break, baby you can break my heart
Baby you can break, baby you can break my heart
I got a feeling that you won’t do it anyway
But it’s up to you what you do with my heart babe
Baby you can break, you can break, you can break my heart.
Baby you can break, you can break, you can break my heart.

Midnight
03:14
|
|||
Meet me at the river at midnight
Cover me in mercy and moonlight
Neon sunrise, open my eyes
It's not too late to begin again
I've got bloody hands
Haven't slept in a week
Barricading doors and swallowing keys
Looking over my shoulder, never turning on lights
Meet me at the river at midnight
Up to my knees in my own grave
Pull me up and under those dark cold waves
It's either me or the devil going down tonight
So Devil, meet me at the river at midnight
Won’t you swing low if you can hear me on high?
Leave my gloves in the shallows of the riverside
Tired of feeling small
Tired of all the fear
Leave my doubts in the shadows of the water here
Up to my knees in my own grave
Pull me up and under those dark cold waves
It's either me or the devil going down tonight
So Devil, meet me at the river at midnight
Up to my knees in my own grave
Pull me up and under those dark cold waves
It's either me or the devil going down tonight
So Devil, meet me at the river at midnight
Dust me off and make me clean
Let the cover of night wash over me
Me and the devil rising up to fight
Going down with the sinners, meet me at the river at midnight

Born Without Borders
04:19
|
|||
She left home on a whim,
on a prayer humming hymns;
a hundred bucks to her name and no credit cards.
She cut through Oklahoma
in her little Toyota.
Golden Gate on her heart and her money in a mason jar.
She called her Mama at a truck stop out in Flagstaff, Arizona.
She said, “I’m gonna make it fine off of kindness and Coca-Cola.
It’s in my heart, it’s in my bones
in my blood, and it’s in my soul.
It’s even in the static on the radio.
It’s why I live, it’s why I leave
It’s safe to say it’s a part of me:
I was born without borders."
Born and raised in the Southeast;
now twenty-three on Frisco’s streets;
scraping by on that minimum wage.
She didn’t fall in love,
but she stumbled on growing up.
She used to think those things would come with age.
She said, “I’ll give it a year or so.
I’ve gotta give me some time to grow.”
It’s in my heart, it’s in my bones
in my blood, and it’s in my soul.
It’s even in the static on the radio.
It’s why I live, it’s why I leave
It’s safe to say it’s a part of me:
I was born without borders.
I was born without borders.
The funny thing about faith:
it’s hard as hell to fake.
Believing looks a lot like gambling.
I’ve tried counting cards,
I’ve tried shooting stars,
But all my prayers fade into rambling.
The good Lord knows that I’m a restless man;
I hope he helps her somehow understand...
She’s in my heart, she’s in my bones
she’s in my blood, and she’s in my soul.
She’s even in the static on the radio.
She’s why I live, she’s why I leave
It’s safe to say she’s a part of me
I was born without borders.
I was born without borders.
We were born without borders

All In
03:58
|
|||
I’ve been looking for a way out,
or a way in
No one ever wants to fade-out,
I don’t wanna fade-in
You don’t know nothing, til you don’t have nothing, and I know nothing well
Success don’t come easy, but it’s no hard sell
I’m all in,
Break my bank if I don’t win
I’m all in,
It’s the last damn bullet in the barrel of the gun,
but something tells me it’s the one
I’m all in.
Four roses and a rosary
and a hard-working woman next to me
Long white lines for eternity
honey, let’s go for a drive.
You can’t have nothing, if you don’t want something, and I want everything
Heartbreak don’t come easy and it don’t come cheap
I’m all in,
Break my bank if I don’t win
I’m all in,
It’s the last damn bullet in the barrel of the gun,
but something tells me it’s the one
I’m all in.
If I lose it all at least I’ll never lose again
I’m all in,
Break my bank if I don’t win
I’m all in,
It’s the last damn bullet in the barrel of the gun,
but something tells me it’s the one
I’m all in.
I’m all in,
Break my bank if I don’t win
I’m all in,
It’s the last damn bullet in the barrel of the gun,
but something tells me it’s the one
I’m all in.

The Breakdown
03:24
|
|||
I don't have much on me
loose change and a set of keys
Trouble up to my knees
And the water's rising
Torn-up like a magazine
More broke than a broke-down cash machine
But I shake it off like a tambourine and keep on rising
Keep on rising
Hey, come on up for the breakdown
It's a soul search shakedown
Put your fists up or you'll end up, messed up face down
It's a hard knock living
But I'mma go down swingin
Gonna dig in, for the fall out, ‘til you hear me singing
Heartache isn't meant to last
Let it test you like a polygraph
Get strong move on let it pass
Keep on climbing
Let pain take its toll on me
But pain ain't got no hold on me
No pain can't take control of me
No running or hiding
Just keep on fighting
Hey, come on up for the breakdown
It's a soul search shakedown
Put your fists up or you'll end up, messed up face down
Hey, it's a hard knock living
But I'mma go down swingin
Gonna dig in, for the fall out, ‘til you hear me singing
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Hey, come on up for the breakdown
Good luck with the takedown
Gonna stand up, gonna man up, ‘til you end up face down
Hey, it's a hell of a living
if up is all your giving
Going all out, for the fall out, ‘til you hear me singing
Do you hear me singing?
Do you hear me singing?
Can you hear me singing?
